About the Instructor
Dr. Bonnie Walker

Dr Bonnie L. Walker, DC, Dipl Ac(NCCAOM), L Ac has been a licensed chiropractic physician in the state of North Carolina since 1989, and has been in solo practice in Boone since 1990. She founded Wellspring Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center in Boone, NC in 1990, where she has been a primary care provider of chiropractic services, classical Chinese acupuncture, nutritional counseling, and wellness care for all ages. She has a special interest in chronic fatigue, immune system disorders, internal medicine, and women’s health.
Dr. Walker earned her D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) degree from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL in 1989, after attending University of Bridgeport as one of the first graduates of their pre chiropractic program. She received her Diplomate certification in acupuncture (Dipl Ac) by examination by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in 1999 and became a NC state licensed acupuncturist in 2005. She is currently an active member of the Acupuncture Council of the North Carolina State Chiropractic Association (NCCA).
Dr. Walker is a founding faculty member of Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine in Sugar Grove, NC.. She served as biomedical dean and clinical skills instructor from 1997-2007. She was also a student of Jung Tao School from 1993-98, where she graduated from the intensive apprenticeship program in 1997. She was awarded her instructor’s white belt in taiji quan from Jung Tao School in 1996. In 2004 she was awarded her master’s diploma in acupuncture with special recognition for meritorious service.
Drawn to the healing arts at 18 years of age, first as a patient, then interested health enthusiast then a healing arts professional, Dr. Bonnie has been a tireless advocate of patient responsibility for their own health. She engages each patient in an active partnership in understanding and reclaiming their optimum health goals. This is achieved by instructing the patient in lifestyle management (diet, exercise, mental and emotional health), basic Chinese and western health principles, awareness of and responsibility for one’s basic needs, in conjunction with appropriate application of the least invasive, most simple and effective, integrative therapies from eastern and western medicine.
Her primary influences have been: Julian Timoner, DC; Dorthea Linley, MD; Cary Reams, PhD; “Chip” Poluhowich, Ph D; Jacob Janse, DC; Alan Beardall, DC; Sean Marshall, DAc; Nguyen van Nghi, MD, Tran viet Dzung, MD; and all of their masters, to whom she is eternally grateful.
Wellspring Seminars provides seminars designed specifically for chiropractors, medical doctors, licensed acupuncturists, and upperclassmen enrolled in such programs; only those practitioners whose professional licensure and scope of practice permit the practice of acupuncture.
Our 200-Hour Acupuncture Certification Program is a fourteen-month medical acupuncture seminar series, which doctors of chiropractic and medicine will find thoroughly prepares them to begin practicing acupuncture in states requiring 200 hours or less. If your state requires less than 200 hours, we can structure the course to suit your needs. If more hours are required, we can accommodate those needs.
In designing this program, we have included time for significant hands-on practice (all clinical supplies provided), as well as didactic instruction to accelerate learning and improve clinical results. Every student is provided with a digital copy of the presentation, including printable charts and interactive point compendium
In addition, with a thorough grounding in Classical Chinese Medicine fully integrated with Western Biomedicine, explained in clearly understood language with liberal clinical application, this course is appropriate for current practitioners of acupuncture, whether they be licensed acupuncturists, chiropractic or medical acupuncture practitioners. Acupuncture students have also received great benefit from this integrative teaching methods.

Continuing Education credits for chiropractors are provided by Northwestern Health Sciences University. Wellspring Seminars provides PDA credits for NCCAOM diplomates and continuing education hours for medical doctors.
